Welcome to the new hotness. The goal of this project is to bring you hacker conference content (vids+slides+whitepapers+poc) and curate it in a way that it will be more freely available and usable.
In years past I would typically feel torn at conferences about which presentations to go to and would end up missing some of the greatest ones either due to time or space restraints. An epic one I missed was Adam Savages’ brilliant discussion on failure at Defcon 17. I was at the Riviera but totally missed his talk.
I have had many similar experiences and have developed a new paradigm for attending conferences: I go to the conferences to meet people, hax shit, party and lulz. I then get the recording of the conference and watch them later. Last year was the first year I tried out this model and it worked quite well! Since that time I have met some really awesome people who are going to help me acquire more conference media so that I can really expand what is available to the community.
To summarize what all this means, I am going to be watching a lot of videos (along with others) and we are going to tag them, extract meaningful information and provide recommendations. In addition we are creating a collection which I hope to have the most expansive coverage of hacker cons on the planet!
Please feel free to contact me if you are seriously interested in helping and by helping you can do any of the following:
- Help procure content
- Digitize content
- Donate cash to help with hosting and vodka-redbulls
- Procure sponsors *but not those lame sponsors that tell us what to do, fuk them
- Security 😉
Lastly, in the words of DualCore, “drink all the booz, hack all the things!”
